Meet Dr. Eric Ecker

Your Compassionate Williamsport Dentist

Dr. Eric Ecker is continuing a long family history of patient-focused, high-quality care in the Williamsport area.

His grandfather, Dr. Herbert Ecker, was a plastic surgeon with extensive experience in cleft palate surgery who served as Chief of Maxillofacial Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Oral Surgery at Williamsport Hospital and founded the Williamsport Cleft Palate Clinic. His father, Dr. Robert Ecker, served patients for more than 40 years in Williamsport as a general dentist before retiring in 2021.

Dr. Eric Ecker decided to make the family legacy a part of his own story, receiving his Bachelor of Science in 2008 and his Doctor of Dental Medicine in 2012 from the University of Pittsburgh. He returned home to Williamsport to work with his father, and in 2014, he purchased the practice and relocated the office to a new, conveniently located space in Loyalsock Township. With more than 1,200 hours of continuing education, averaging around 100 every year, Dr. Ecker is passionate about improving his own skills, learning about new advancements in the field, and raising the standard of care for his patients.

He holds a Fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry, one of the highest levels of continuing education and professional distinction offered. He is also a Dawson Scholar of the Dawson Academy, a prestigious educational and clinical research organization in the field of dentistry.

Dr. Ecker also has completed an Advanced Implant Continuum through Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and regularly participates in the PEAK Program of continuing education through the Pennsylvania Academy of General Dentistry (PAGD), with topics including Pediatrics, Oral Surgery, Geriatrics, Periodontics, Orthodontics and more. He is a member of the PAGD and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM), two of the most respected professional organizations in the field. Additionally, Dr. Ecker is experienced with American Sign Language (ASL) and can offer care to those who are hearing-impaired.

Outside of the Office

Outside of the office, Dr. Ecker enjoys spending time with his wife, Samantha (Sam), and their two children, Emilia and Elliot. When not acting as the kids’ jungle gym or making time for CrossFit workouts, you can find Dr. Ecker cooking up new recipes, watching films on Netflix or Hulu or enjoying a good book. Dr. Ecker is also an avid Pittsburgh sports fan: Steelers, Penguins, Pirates, Pitt Panthers…you name it! You can usually find him with his Terrible Towel close by.
